Dr. Mohammed DabbasAdvisor to Minister

Mohammad Dabbas is currently the Advisor to Minister of the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He received several awards including the Prize of the Ideal Employee at the Civil Service Bureau” for the year 2010.He also received the Award and the Congratulation Letter as (Chevening Scholar)from the Prime Minister of Britain Mr. John Major during his visit to Jordan on 15th March 1995 at the AL-Hashimieh Palace, as was chosen among the applicants who were applied to the British Embassy & the British Council for different kinds of scholarships. He holds BSc in Chemical Engineering, Renewable Energy Sub. Specialist in 1988 and Post Graduate Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Energy Sub Specialist/ Faculty of Higher Studies in 1993 from University of Jordan-Jordan /1993. Also, he holds a MSc degree in Environmental Technology &Management with honours from UMIST, Britain in 1996.
This session will discuss Jordan’s current energy scenario. It will highlight the steps taken by Jordan to meet the everincreasing energy demand, the contribution of nuclear energy towards the energy mix of the country and how the development of a nuclear power plant can help Jordan shift from an energy importer to an energy exporter.
